Soul Fighters at American Cup #8 Jiu Jitsu Tournament

This past weekend the Soul Fighters made their first team appearance at the 8th Annual American Cup Jiu Jitsu Tournament in San Jose. The team brought 24 competitors from Z MATA and CAL BJJ to compete against 100 different academies with a field of over 1200 competitors. All in all, the Soul Fighters took home 11 gold medals, couple bronze medals and a Kids Third Place team trophy. In addition, the Soul Fighters team made their presence in the adult division placing fourth as a team highlighted by our head California Soul Fighters Association instructor Manuel Diaz. He fought in the Black Belt Pro Open Division and then Black Belt Pro Under 208 Division in which he was able to capture the gold and $500. The team did an amazing job on the mat representing the Soul Fighters flag. As we all know, the Bay Area is full of elite Jiu-Jitsu Academies like Checkmat, Ralph Gracie, Caio Terra Academy, Guerilla Jiu-Jitsu, Coalition 95, Gracie Fighter and so many more. However, now they have to mention the team Soul Fighters when you talk about elite academies in the Bay Area. Once again congratulations to all who competed. Thank you to all the parents, our team members and a special thank you to all our training partners. Without you we cannot be the best we can be.

Muito Obrigado!
